How perception works

L0030_2016_08_29

Good morning.

Today we begin with a discussion on perception and how your perception creates your experience and specifically how you influence your perception so as to generate experience of your choice.

To begin in summary, as I have stated before, your perception obtains a large portion of the information used to construct your experience from the blueprint. This would be the most common case, however your perception can and does alter the information in the blueprint to generate experiences which are of your choosing.

There are three primary influences that you apply to your perception that affects how your perception generates your experience. The first one, you are quite aware of, is attention. Attention affects how your perception by accentuating certain subject areas or certain objective inclinations. Your attention is itself influenced by many factors, for example, if you are feeling fearful of a certain outcome your attention may be drawn to that potential outcome or it may be drawn to other factors which you fear, which would be influencing of that undesirable outcome. Your beliefs of course also do affect your attention as do many other factors, however generally you can be aware of what you are paying attention to without too much difficulty and the effect of attention upon your perception is to highlight or accentuate certain subject areas.

I have previously given the example of an individual that may have a fixation upon red cars that would tend to accentuate and generate experiences in which red cars are perhaps more prevalent. Therefore attention is a factor in your perception that has its main tendency to accentuate specific subject areas. This is different from other influences you have in your perception as I will discuss shortly. Attention is more about particular subjects and not about, let's say, in the manner which your experience unfolds. Attention influences perception by selecting from the blueprint subject areas which are in alignment with your attention.

The second major factor that influences your perception is intent, and intent you may describe as your wants and your desires. You may also consciously determine an intent for a specific purpose. Now intents affect your perception more as to the way your experiences are combined with subject areas which your attention has drawn. It is primarily influencing your perception in the way of outcomes. Your intent on a particular subject will tend to influence your experiences so as to move in a direction of those outcomes which you have expressed through your desires and wants.

You can also have what you would call negative intents, these perhaps are less obvious to you. If you are strongly expressing a fear of some outcome that too is an expression of intent that influences your perception.

It is important to realize that of course it is more generally the energy you project that affects your perception; I am here explaining some of the major factors involved in this. However quite simply stated the energy you project generates your experience. Now again with the intent which is most heavily influencing upon your perception as to the generation of outcomes, this may be influencing either in a positive or negative manner as you may consider. Your perception is neutral as to what you consider good or bad, desirable or undesirable. Your perception faithfully generates your experience based on these factors.

The third component which influences your perception and how it generates your experience is what I would call choice. Now clearly there is choice in all of these elements for you of course choose what you pay attention to and you do choose your intent either explicitly or perhaps somewhat outside of your awareness. So in all of these matters choices of course are primary, however there is, shall we say, a category of choice which is more specific to influencing your perception and that is your choice in choosing which path you will follow.

You may recall myself discussing probabilities recently and that is where your choices are presented to yourself. You present these choices and from these choose which one you wish to follow. This is done on a moment by moment basis, in each moment you have very many choices and you choose amongst those. Each moment may entail multiple choices being made or perhaps only a few. In all cases a choice is made and that choice affects your perception by influencing how your experience will unfold. The matter of this choice, the choice of how the experience unfolds, affects what you call your flow.

Therefore let us say as an example we once again visit our individual with the fixation with red cars. Now he already has a great deal of attention on this specific subject therefore that attention will draw to him the subject of red cars. His intent may be, for example, to purchase a red car, perhaps a particular model, one that is of interest to him. Therefore that would be the outcome he desires, that is, his want is to acquire this red car. The choices that he presents himself may be quite varied in this, he may choose to make it quite difficult to obtain his red car, he may present himself with limitations such as financial limitations or he may facilitate it by presenting himself with choices which allow for an easy flow to obtain this outcome. Therefore he may arrive at his desired outcome, the purchase of the red vehicle, in various different ways or he may not arrive at it at all for considerable time because of the choices he makes in how he flows towards that desired outcome. Therefore the element of choice in influencing your perception is one that affects your flow, how you flow moment to moment, how your experience unfolds in a particular direction.

Now of course I have given an example which is in isolation of all other intents and attentions and choices which the individual will make. Generally, an individual will be preoccupied with many different aspects of his experience in this dimension. And the individual will have many different attentions, many different intents, and will make various varying different choices moment to moment based on these.

Now perception is a method that you use while engaging a physical dimension. It is a technique that you engage to create the imagery that you experience and this perception that you use generates an experience which is a blend of all of how you are projecting your energy, meaning a blend of all of your attentions and intents and choices in all subject areas. As Elias has stated, these are all intermingled and connected, therefore an attention upon one subject area and the intent with respect to that will influence an attention and an intent in another subject area.

In generating your experience most individuals desire experiences which they find comfortable or which satisfies a particular want or desire. One of the most effective ways to achieve what you would consider a desirable outcome is through your projection of satisfaction, for if you are projecting satisfaction then your attention will be on satisfaction. Moreover your intent will be to remain in that state of satisfaction and generally you will then choose the paths which sustained a state of satisfaction. Now satisfaction can be related to many different aspects of your experience and in itself satisfaction is not specific. If there is a specific outcome you wish to experience you would combine this projection of satisfaction with some specific attentions and intents and choices. However satisfaction is a very powerful tool for moving you in the direction of your desires and wants. It is a component, when expressed through your energy that is quite powerful in achieving this.

Now returning to our subject of perception and how it operates, I have just described those elements of your energy expression that most influences your perception. Your perception then takes these elements from your entire energy projection on all subjects and it functions to generate imagery for you that closely mirrors the blend of your energy projection on all subjects and this will be the imagery that you experience.

This imagery is drawn from the blueprint. The blueprint is vast, as I have stated, it contains not just the current general consensus on the state of your world, it also contains innumerable probabilities. Therefore your perception is able to draw from the blueprint with a high degree of flexibility. Your beliefs, which influence your perception both in attention and choice, act to limit what your perception may draw from the blueprint. Generally speaking beliefs that are widely held in your society, which is to say that are strongly apparent within the blueprint, if you yourself hold these beliefs then your perception will have a tendency to apply these limitations to what imagery it generates, for your perception will as closely as possible mirror these three elements that I spoke of and your beliefs are affecting of almost all of them.
Now Lystell was presented with some information yesterday in which it was made known to him that in these interactions with him I am choosing to express the information that I do in a manner that is somewhat in alignment with his own way of processing the information, in a way that is in harmony to some degree with his particular personality and traits. This is not to say that the material is being distorted in order to accommodate Lystell, it is simply that it is formulated to flow and to be expressed in a manner that is somewhat accommodating to him and the benefit of this is that it enhances the development of our interactions. Information that I express is an expression of mine that presents a particular view on the various subjects which I present to you. Others may present similar information with a different view, however regardless of the view, it is still at the core the same expression and the same message. Therefore in this tuning of my expression so as to harmonize with Lystell it is simply an adaptation of the view so the information is more easily expressed by Lystell. It is not a distorted view, it is simply an alternate view.

Now at a point in the development of these interactions this adaptation to Lystell's particular personality and information processing will diminish for it will be unnecessary. It is a matter of developing the energy exchange to a point where Lystell is more detached from the expression and this in fact is what we are achieving and we are progressing in that direction.

Now this has been a good session and I wish you a good day.
